- When I retired, I needed something of interest to fill my days. I started painting with paint by number sets, and found out I really enjoyed it. Between 1995 & 2000, I tried some of Bob Ross's style, but was never satisfied with it. In 2000 I took some art classes from a private instructor,In 2007 & 2008 I have won some art competition awards. Each painting is like a new adventure and I can't wait to see it completed. Yet as soon as it is finished, I can't wait to start a new one. On 4/11/2010 I took 2nd place in the PFAA 20th Annual Art Competition in the drawing category, with a colored pencil drawing of a Scroll Coral.
